About Vickie

Vickie Ellis is one of the UK’s most sought after stellar makeup artists. Vickie trained at The London College of Beauty Therapy and Greasepaint School of Makeup.  Her work has a timeless, flawless sense of perfection and allure that attracts an iconic A list following. Vickie has worked on high octane fashion editorials with Colin Morgan, Eleanor Tomlinson, Katy McGrath and Jenny Agutter and she is the go to makeup artist for the most discerning brides who want to look and feel like a celluloid goddess on their big day.  Vickie takes extraordinary care over her brides to be, and no detail, desire or request is too much trouble.  As she says, “I want you to spend the most important day of your life feeling like a modern Grace Kelly or Elizabeth Taylor. I want you to feel like a queen and treasure that beautiful memory forever – let me make your dream of yourself come true.”

About your makeup trial

This is the perfect opportunity for us to establish your ‘look’ and to ensure that you feel totally comfortable and confident about your appearance for your special day. 023_slideshow_Sarah Rosen If you have any skin care concerns this is also an opportunity to discuss any issues that are worrying you and check that you have no allergic reactions to any products that are used; although this is very rare and the products I use are of the highest quality it is beneficial for your peace of mind. I normally travel to you for your trial so you are comfortable with your surroundings and can look yourself in your favourite mirror (we all have one!).  If you would like anyone else present for your trial for opinions (mum or a friend etc.) then please do invite them.  Your trial will normally last around 2 hours, but there is no time limit and I will not leave you until you are completely happy with the result.  At the end of the trial I will take some photographs to document and note the products that have been used, this is for reference on your wedding day to re-create your look with no worry. wedding3 Your trial should ideally be around 8 weeks before your wedding and held in daylight hours, this will enable me to see your skin tone and eye colour correctly as artificial lighting can distort this. A trial for mother of the bride, bridesmaids and other members of the bride or grooms party can be arranged upon request.

 About your wedding day

From my experience I understand that most brides are not used to being the centre of attention and find the idea of being looked at and photographed all day somewhat daunting.  My job is to re-create your look at your preparation venue in a calm, relaxing and friendly way to help put you at ease and melt those nerves away. Before your wedding day we shall have discussed a schedule for people having their makeup done and to fit around other arrangements; for example yours/others hair being prepared, flowers arriving, a quiet moment or bite to eat (very important for you) and everybody getting dressed. I will be there with you until you are dressed and ready to leave to get married for any last minute touch ups.

As an option...

Pre & post wedding makeup services I am available for your engagement party makeup or pre wedding photo shoots to make you look as beautiful as on your wedding day.  For the brave and bold brides out there I also provide makeup services for post wedding 'trash the dress' photo shoots.   I offer a further chargeable wedding day service to be personally on hand up until your wedding breakfast to assist with your first photographs after your ceremony.  My background in editorial photo shoots has equipped me with a keen eye for detail not only from a makeup and hair point of view, but also ensuring your dress or the grooms attire are looking their best in your photographs. If either of these services is of interest to you please do enquire. wedding5
